Chief Financial Officer
John received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois - Urbana and received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate while in graduate school. He began a career as a CPA in public practice and later worked for for-profit and non-profit corporations. Most recently, he was Chief Administrative Officer of the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland where he was in charge of finance, information technology, human resources and property management.
John is the author of several books on information technology published by the American Institute of CPAs and has addressed accounting groups across the country on information technology topics. He received the Trailblazer in Technology Award from the accounting industry publication, Accounting Today.
John is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and has achieved the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) designations of the AICPA. He is also a Lifetime Member of the Girl Scouts of the USA.
John is active in non-profit organizations, and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Eastminster Presbytery, a regional organization of 55 Presbyterian churches (PCUSA) is northeast Ohio. He has served as Chairman of the Portage County Mental Health and Recovery Board, Treasurer of United Way of Portage County, and President of United Christian Ministries in Kent, Ohio.
John is President of Kent Presbyterian Church and a member of its Session. He was named an Honorary Life Member of National Presbyterian Women (PCUSA) for his work with youth.
John and his wife Penny reside in Kent, Ohio.
