Girl Scouts of North East Ohio is governed by an efficient and effective democratic process that includes the core values of a representative democracy, access to decision-makers, and participatory involvement valued at all levels of the council.

Nominations now being accepted for 2012-2014 GSNEO Membership Delegates

Membership Delegates are the "Voice of the Members" to the GSNEO Board of Directors and, leadership staff. Delegates are the channel of two-way communication on governance matters, bring the concerns of the membership to the attention of the Board of Directors and leadership staff. Their role is very similar to that of elected representatives in state & federal government.

Membership Delegate were instrumental contributors in the recent revision to the GSNEO Code of Regulations (bylaws), Operational Volunteer policies, Volunteer Finance policies, Vision 2012 property review and the work of the Process Improvement Teams.

Membership Delegates have voting rights in the GSNEO General Assembly body and vote in the election of the Board of Directors, Board Development Committee and National Delegates as well as all amendments to the Code of Regulations and other matters requiring a vote.

Who can be a Membership Delegate?  Any currently registered member, 14 years of age and older, is eligible for nomination.   Individuals can self nominate.    Click here to review the  2012 Membership Delegate Nomination and Election Packet, it contains instructions, answers to frequently asked questions, nomination form, as well as the schedule of the February Election meetings. Nominations will be accepted until 5:00pm on January 23, 2012.

Schedule of Annual Membership Meetings & Elections of Delegates

Please register for the meetings by visiting GSNEO Special Events. Registration closes two (2) business days prior to the meeting.  If quorum for the meeting is not met, the meeting will be cancelled. The GSNEO Code of Regulations states that for these meetings,  twenty (20) registered members, 14 years or older, of the Service Area shall be present to constitute a quorum.
