Senior High Ropes Facilitator - PT (Seasonal)
The Senior High Ropes Facilitator is responsible developing procedures, routines and practices for the operation, which conform to GSUSA, GSNEO and ACA standards. The incumbent performs these duties in close partnership with the Coordinator, Camp and Event Pathways. She/he will inspect High Ropes and Zip Line equipment (including gears, harnesses, helmets, ropes, caribeaners, etc.) to ensure safety of staff and participants and report any problems to the correct person; judge weather and course conditions appropriately to ensure safety of participants; facilitate High Ropes programs for girls (grades 6, and up) and occasionally adults, relaying program rules to participants in a positive manner; set up and prepare course for use by participants; inventory and maintain equipment before and after each event; work to develop an overall progression of programs for the High Ropes course; work as a team with co-facilitators and volunteers; oversee and train volunteers for various support roles on the course; report all incident/accidents to supervisor immediately; maintain Safety-Wise, Girl Scouts of the USA, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio and the American Camping Association standards at all times; as a member of Girl Scouts of the USA, ensure that diversity and pluralism is embraced and incorporated into the work and upholds the council Customer Service philosophy and strives to ensure that all GSNEO customers receive superior service.
The right individual will be a minimum of 21 years of age; extensive experience in Climbing and High Ropes Course; knowledge of maintenance of climbing equipment; knowledge of Girl Scout program and Summer Camp Experience preferred; meet the physical demands of this job including ability to work at 20-40 feet in the air using a harness; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; ability to climb and reach; ability to work flexible work week, including early hours, evenings and weekends is required as needed and may be required to work with volunteers/staff; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
