GSNEO and its Board of Directors honored 120 women, men, and volunteer service units for their strong commitment and dedication to Girl Scouting at an Adult Recognition Celebration on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Cuyahoga Community College in Warrensville Heights. "Without volunteers to provide leadership and resources, we would not be able to advance our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place," said Chief Executive Officer Daisy L. Alford-Smith, Ph.D. “The adult recognition celebration is about demonstrating to everyone that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals.” Volunteers with Girl Scouts not only work as leaders and co-leaders, but also sit on the Board of Directors and committees, assist with special events, and train and mentor both adults and girls.
