Keep an eye out for the Girl Scouts in this year’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Timken Grand Parade in Canton on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
Girl Scouts is celebrating 100 years of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts has done more than any other organization to provide leadership opportunities for girls. In fact, one out of two women in the U.S. has been a Girl Scout. Today, Girl Scouts is stronger than ever, providing more girls with opportunities to become the leaders they want to be and the leaders the world needs them to be.
Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, led by Daisy L. Alford-Smith, Ph.D., serves 40,000 girls and 14,000 adults throughout 18 counties in Northeast Ohio. Girl Scouts, volunteers and alumnae will represent the council with a float themed: Honor the Past, Celebrate the Future.
Participating in the parade provides Girl Scouts with an opportunity to showcase this wonderful tradition, a century of achievements, the importance of community service and the next generation of leaders.
