If you have been following the headlines, you know about the tornado-related losses of life and property in Joplin, Missouri. The losses have been catastrophic. The Girl Scout Service Center and camp in that area were not damaged and while staff and volunteers are OK, as far as they know, a lot of their families are not. They also have said that it’s too soon to have a whole picture of the impact; access to the area is limited due to the need for rescue and clean up.
As in the past we are receiving calls from Girl Scouts asking how to help. We encourage those who would like to donate money or collect funds to do so with respected national charities that focus on disaster relief including the Red Cross and the Salvation Army.
