Happy Birthday Girl Scouts! All Girl Scout family and friends are invited to the Great Lakes Science Center ( 601 Erieside Avenue, Cleveland, OH) on March 10, 2012 from 10am to 5pm. Wear your Girl Scout uniform for FREE admission (does not include OmniMax theater) and friends and family will enjoy $2 off regular admission.
In addition to the great hands-on exhibits, Great Lakes Science Center will be offering special Girl Scout Badge Workshops. Each session will last approximately 1.5 hours with a reduced workshop fee of $10 per scout. Each scout will receive a corresponding badge upon completion of the workshop. Girls can register by calling 216-621-2400, walk-up registration will be available on the day of the event. Each session will be limited to 50 girls.
Brownie Badge Workshop: Home Scientist - 10:00am and 2:00pm Complete the brand-new Home Scientist badge! By paying special attention during experiments, scientists learn new things, even if they have conducted the experiment before. Join us as you learn to be a kitchen scientist, create static electricity, dive into density, create bubbles from dry ice, and experiment with all things science! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Brownie Badge Workshop: Inventor - 12:00pm and 4:00pm Complete the brand-new Inventor badge! Do you ever wonder what it takes to come up with a new kind of phone or a new way to power a light bulb? Join us as you warm up your inventor’s mind and discover new ways to solve the same problem. Develop a needs list, solve a problem, and share your invention with the group! Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
OMNI Sales: Girl Scouts who organize in groups of 10 or more can make advance reservations through the Reservations department. The group rate will be $6 per/person and payment will need to be made in advance. These groups will follow normal group check-in procedures. If Girl Scouts are interested in purchasing tickets the day of the event, the rate will be $11 adult / $9 youth. The OMNI schedule for the day is below:

Admission: Girl Scouts who can demonstrate they are current / former scouts (i.e. membership ID card, Girl Scout sash / vest, etc) will receive free general admission and a Green wristband. The fees listed above will apply for OMNI sales. Free admission is not extended to family members, but a $2.00 discount will be offered off each general admission ticket. This reduced rate will be $12 adult / $10 youth.
The Girl Scouts will have a staffed check-in table in the main lobby for questions about the day, distribution of patches (reserved through Girl Scout web site) and wristband distribution, as needed.
Parking: Girl Scouts may park in the attached parking garage. The parking fee, with validation at the Information Desk, is $7.00.
Lunch Space: Girl Scouts and the public will be able to use Bytes Cove and the Mezzanine for lunch seating. Appropriate signage will be provided.
