Volunteer Awards & Recognition

The purpose of recognition is to facilitate, acknowledge, credit or celebrate the achievements of volunteers. Whether the recognition is in the form of a simple thank-you for a small job well done or a formal commendation for years of faithful service in a key position of an organization, such acknowledgement is a signal to the recipient that she/he is noticed and appreciated - that she/he is recognized.

While a sincere word of thanks or a personalized note of appreciation is most rewarding, there may be an occasion to recognize an individual or a group that has given outstanding service. Awards are available to recognize an individual's contributions to Girl Scouts both from Girl Scout of the U.S.A. and Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

2010 Adult Recognition Packet

Recognizing our wonderful volunteers, staff and community partners is a powerful tradition in Girl Scouts. Please take a moment to nominate a fellow Girl Scout who has made a difference. This packet includes the GSNEO Board Approved Awards criteria, nomination materials, and submission deadlines. Deadline to submit nominations and endorsement letters is February 1, 2010. The list of Board-approved awards and criteria are as follows:

		Appreciation Pin The Appreciation Pin recognizes an adult who has delivered outstanding service to at least one geographic area, service, unit, or program delivery audience.
		Honor Pin The Honor Pin recognizes an adult who has delivered outstanding service to two or more geographic areas, or program delivery audience.
		Thanks Badge The Thanks Badge recognizes an adult member whose performance is truly outstanding and benefits the total Council or the entire Girl Scout Movement.
		Thanks Badge II The Thanks Badge II recognizes an adult member who has previously received the Thanks Badge from any council and who has continued to contribute in extraordinary ways that benefit the total Council or the entire Girl Scout Movement.
		President's Award The President's Award recognizes the efforts of a service unit, geographic area or program delivery team in moving its assigned area or audience toward achievement of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio goals during a fiscal or membership year.
