Cadette Girl Scouts – earn your Digital Movie Maker badge, create your own film, and enter the GSNEO-Future Vision Film Project this summer!

GSNEO is thrilled to partner with Future Vision Foundation for this exclusive opportunity.  Future Vision Foundation (FVF), a local Cleveland non-profit dedicated to restoring vision, sharing medical breakthroughs by telling powerful stories through documentary films. FVF combines the expertise of the medical community with Local Directors to advance their mission to inspire and celebrate breakthroughs in vision research through powerful documentaries of discovery, impact, and hope.

You’ll be guided through the Digital Movie Maker badge with the expert guidance of Tom Fox-Davies, filmmaker and board member of the Future Vision Foundation.  Tom has a flair for storytelling and his life has been filled with creative endeavors – from his early days as a child actor in England,  to performing internationally as a singer-songwriter, composing music for a variety of film projects, consulting on script development, writing for numerous film projects, and producing countless hours of content.  He now resides in the Great Lakes area where he launched a new production company, giving him the opportunity to work with many clients, including Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

How do you join the fun?  Simply register online, then visit our Girl Scouts at Home page to view the recorded workshop sessions at your convenience.  Thanks to a generous donation, all GSNEO Cadette Girl Scouts who register and complete the workshop will receive their Digital Movie Maker badge FREE.

And … there’s more!!  Once you’ve completed the badge, put your new skills into action by entering a film in the GSNEO-Future Vision Film Project.  Tell your own story illustrating the theme: What Vision Means to Me.  Films will be reviewed by a panel of experts, with a few films selected to highlight at the 2020 Future Vision Awards event to be held at the Cleveland Museum of Art on November 21.  More details to come!
