Financial Literacy for Seniors: Buying Power Badge
It might be tomorrow. It might be a year from now. Or maybe it could be 10 years away. Someday, you will want to make a big purchase that you’ll end up paying for over time. It could be a cell phone with a monthly service plan; a new car, which comes with loan payments; or even a new home, which includes a monthly mortgage payment. Through this virtual program from VicTreeFi you will begin to understand the long-term impact of making a big purchase and how you need to be prepared to keep paying for it long after you’ve started to use it. You’ll compare costs and options, conduct consumer research, calculate the long-term costs, investigate ways to find better deals, and create a savings plan for a big purchase you’d like to make while you earn your Buying Power badge.
Girls can work at their own pace in these self-led virtual modules, but they must complete the program between the date range of January 10 – January 23. Program fee includes Buying Power badge which will be mailed to participants upon completion of the course.
Note: VicTreeFi’s system requires each girl to have her own unique email address to participate in their courses. Troops or families registering multiple girls for this program MUST provide a unique email address for each individual girl, please no email sharing.
