Although many of us are hesitant to discuss race, racism, and injustice, it is critical that we do so. Join us on an expedition to help you and your troop build a greater understanding of how racism impacts our daily lives and how Girl Scouts can work together to create a more equitable world. This retreat is also ideal for individual girls or volunteers who would like to know more about being advocates for social justice. This retreat is a learning opportunity for EVERYONE!

Explore your identity, learn how to be actively anti-racist, how to be a good ally, and how STEM and leadership can impact social justice and the fabric of our communities. At the conclusion of the weekend, you’ll have the skills to brainstorm community problems, assess root causes and create sustainable solutions to Take Action and make change through a social justice lens.

This is a hybrid program with an important virtual session held in advance of the weekend. The Adults only session will be held on April 11th from 6 PM-8 PM. The Girls only session will be held on April 13th from 6 PM-8 PM. These sessions will lay the foundation for the culminating in-person event.

The in-person portion of the program runs from 9 AM Saturday through 3 PM Sunday. You can travel to the campgrounds for the sessions each day or you can stay on-site to prepare for our early Saturday start! Check-in will be on Friday night. If you plan to stay overnight, be sure to bring your meals and snacks for Friday. For all participants, we will provide a small continental breakfast and a boxed lunch on Saturday and Sunday. For our overnight guests, we will provide dinner on Saturday as well.

NOTE: Outdoor and First Aid/CPR/AED trained chaperones are required for this event. Girls attending without a troop may be accompanied by their parent.
