Macedonia, OH – Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO) is celebrating sweet success after its 20th Dessert First Gala raised more than $112,000, while challenging 13 local chefs to create desserts featuring the iconic Girl Scout Cookies. The event, presented by FirstEnergy Foundation and chaired by Judith E. Matsko, included dessert tasting, silent and live auctions and dinner. This year, WKYC News anchor and Girl Scout alum Dawn Kendrick served as the emcee. Desserts were judged by a panel of celebrity judges as well as guests, and the winners this year are:

Guests bid on 74 silent auction items and experiences. A live auction offered priceless experiences including a ride on the Goodyear Blimp and an exclusive stay at a private home in Mexico. Donations raised through the fund-a-need will go toward the purchase of a mobile climbing wall that will expand the challenging outdoor experiences GSNEO offers girls.
Dessert First, GSNEO’s signature fundraiser, supports leadership development and character-building programs for more than 25,000 girls throughout 18 counties in Northeast Ohio.
