Our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, envisioned an organization that supported all girls. She often characterized the organization as being a big tent with a warm and welcoming campfire. Girl Scouts strives to be a place where all members are cherished and valued, introduced to new ideas, embraced by the sisterhood, and encouraged to make both themselves and the world better.

We have collaborative external partnerships to support the needs of our members by creating a safe environment, which promotes opportunities for all girls. GSUSA and GSNEO have undertaken many operational changes, listed below, to ensure that our program remains diverse, inclusive, and accessible.
The Girl Scout Experience is for all girls – every Girl Scout has something fabulous to bring to the table! GSNEO welcomes girls and adults whose learning or physical disabilities and differing abilities may limit their activities but not their hopes and achievements. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is flexible enough to bring out the best in girls and adults of any ability. From summer camps to STEM programs to badge work, GSNEO is dedicated to offering a variety of consistent and quality programs to all our members. We strive to remove as many barriers as possible for families so their child may experience all that Girl Scouts has to offer. We know the cost of programs can be a barrier to members attending events, whether it be brought on by an unforeseen emergency or the state of the current economy. To help ensure this is not the case for our members, GSNEO offers opportunities to lower, and in some cases, remove this barrier.
