Become a volunteer!
Your talents and experience have the power to change girls’ lives. As a Girl Scout volunteer, you’ll help craft their experiences—from the way they run their cookie businesses to the way they speak up in meetings. You’ll also teach them the skills and give them the confidence they need to bring their unique ideas to life and make changes that they never thought possible.
As girls learn, grow, and lead, you’re there through it all—shaping the future right along with us. And while you teach them important life lessons and set them up for happy, successful lives, you’ll grow too—honing your own leadership and organizational skills. It's a win-win. Let’s get started!
*Girl Scout membership must be renewed annually for $25. Financial assistance is available for girl members. The Girl Scout membership year is October 1- September 30. Purchasing a Girl Scout membership does not guarantee placement in a troop. A membership to Girl Scouts of the USA is non-refundable.
What is Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is more than an activity—it’s a Movement dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Why do girls love being Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouts is a way of life that brings out the best in your girl, even in the most challenging of times. While they’re learning about STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and important life skills, Girl Scouts are also discovering new ways to make their family and community stronger, kinder, and better for everyone.
How does it work? What’s a “troop”?
Groups of Girl Scouts, called troops, typically meet weekly or every other week for an hour or two. Guided by adult volunteers, troop members choose the hands-on activities and projects that excite them, try new things, and cheer each other on. Together, they earn badges to reflect their successes and show the world what they’re made of.
What’s the goal?
Making sure girls are given the opportunity to reach their full potential by developing values and skills that will lead them to happier lives.
When can I get started?
If your girl is ready to let her best self shine and start creating the world she wants to see, she’s ready to be a Girl Scout today. A Girl Scout membership is $25—plus any applicable council fees. A Girl Scout membership year starts on October 1 and lasts until September 30 of the following year, but you can get started early by joining or renewing your membership in April each year. Find your local Girl Scout council and get started today.
Is your girl in Pre-K?

Preparing for kindergarten is an exciting time, and we are so happy that you are considering Girl Scouts as a trusted partner in helping your girl prepare for this next step in her life.
Girl Scout Daisies are kindergarten and first grade girls who explore their communities, try new games and activities, earn petals as they learn what it means to be a Girl Scout, partake in community service, sell Girl Scout Cookies, and have fun in the outdoors.
If she’ll be in kindergarten in fall of 2023, she can join Girl Scouts now! Groups—that we call “troops”—are forming, and we’re looking for adults to join, too, to help guide the way. Click the Join Girl Scouts button above and search for a Pre-K troop.
