Adult Learning Experience (A.L.E) is the place where GSNEO volunteers go to learn more about everything Girl Scouts! With classes brought to you by fellow volunteers and staff members, you will be sure to find something for yourself to enjoy and to enrich your troop’s experience.

Enjoy networking with fellow Girl Scout volunteers in a creative learning environment. Expand your colorful Girl Scout world with hands-on experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Before you know it, you will be radiating positive vibes, trainings, and knowledge you can share with your troop and other adult volunteers all year long.

We are happy to offer child care sessions throughout the event to support your participation. To ensure a safe and engaging experience, each session is limited to 8 children and is available for $8.00 per session.
You may drop off your child at the Bell Tower up to 15 minutes early to allow time to get to your class location. Space is limited and sessions fill quickly.
Sessions are staffed by background-checked adult members and resident camp staff trained as counselors, with support from Program Aide and Volunteer in Training girls.

8/5/2026 Session 1 Blended First Aid/CPR/AED (Core Volunteer Training)
$30.00 Any member adult may take the First Aid/CPR/AED training. This course satisfies the requirements for becoming a certified first aider. A qualified first aider with current first aid and CPR certification must accompany the troop/group whenever the troop/group is gathered.
NOTE THE FOLLOWING IS American Red Cross language when describing this class: The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA, workplace or other regulatory requirements.
This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile, desktop, or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid two-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued. This class requires being on the floor as part of the certification process. We will review GSNEO resources including the Sensitive Issues Consent Form, Emergency Action Plan Card, and discuss best practices for emotional wellness and Mental Health First Aid. $17.00 Is your troop ready for their first cabin campout experience? This hands-on training combines Outdoor Essentials I – All Day and Outdoor Essentials II – Cabin Overnight, covering everything you need to confidently lead an outdoor adventure. You'll explore Safety Activity Checkpoints as they relate to outdoor activities, learn from seasoned volunteers’ camping tips, techniques, and tricks, and practice essential skills such as fire building, knot tying, campfire cooking, night hikes, Girl Scout songs, nature activities, and more.
What to bring: Dress for the weather and bring a mess kit (plate, silverware, cup, and a mesh bag), toiletries, a sleeping bag, and a pillow. Dinner will be provided. Your trainers will send a welcome email with additional details after the event registration closes. Important: Staying overnight is required to complete this training. This combined course fulfills both Outdoor Essentials I and Outdoor Essentials II requirements.

8/6/2026 Session 1 Archery Level 1 Certification (Outdoor)
$45.00 Come spend the afternoon at camp and learn everything you need to know about taking your girls on the archery range rain or shine! This class will teach you the basics of safety, equipment, and fun of bringing your girls out on the range. This blended format will begin with a 30 minute Zoom call with your instructor before the approximately 4 hours of online modules that will need to be completed through USA Archery. After passing the online test, 4-5 hours of range time will be completed at one of the GSNEO properties for the practical portion of the test. Passing these two requirements will provide you with a 3-year Level 1 Archery certification from USA Archery. This course has a 2-year commitment to assist programming to GSNEO girl programs through Hit the Target.

Are you planning a large group function and need to use the commercial kitchen at a GSNEO Camp? This class is required to reserve the Commercial Kitchen at GSNEO camps. Commercial Certification is now in a BLENDED form. You are required to do an online session before attending the class in the Commercial Kitchen. The training is Camp-specific. In this class you will learn everything you need to know. This includes who’s permitted in the kitchen, food safety, dishwasher, griddle, stoves, convection oven operation, and much more. $7.00 Knots: they all begin with rope--different sizes, lengths, widths, and strengths, depending on their use. Discover which knots to use when, and learn how to easily teach them to your girls. You will create your own knot binder filled with techniques, tricks, tips, and games to play with ropes. Remember, practice makes perfect, so use your binder to keep your new skills sharp!

You will gain an understanding of how leadership looks different at each age level and how to create age-appropriate, meaningful, and fun experiences for your girls. This portion is tailored by age level, so be sure to register for the level that best fits your troop. If you lead a multi-level troop, choose the level with the most girls or consider attending multiple sessions.

This is a two-part course. Registration covers both sessions, and participants are required to attend all scheduled times, including the overnight portion.
Build on your Backpacking 101 Part 1 skills in this hands-on training experience. You will explore key elements of backpacking, including packing gear efficiently, trail hiking, and primitive camping. This course is designed to help you feel confident preparing for and leading a backpacking experience with your troop. Limited equipment is available, BRING WHAT YOU HAVE.
Participants should be prepared for a physical experience and must be able to hike at least 5 miles on uneven terrain and camp on the ground.
Childcare is not provided for this course.

$7.00 Join us as we explore the universe and beyond. Learn basic stargazing tips and how to identify and locate stars, and planets with the naked eye. Walk away with knowledge of hands-on activities to help present concepts about planets, stars and the solar system to your troop. This class does not include the use of the observatory or telescopes.

$5.00 The “ins and outs” of troop trip planning are outlined in this informative course. Safety Activity Checkpoints, Girl Scout Insurance, and all required paperwork will be explained. This workshop is required for any troop planning an extended trip (three nights or more outside of the Council footprint). National and International guidelines will be discussed. This is a great opportunity to ask all the travel questions you have.

$6.00 BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – THREE HOOP CAPACITY Run away and join the circus! A lyra is an aerial hoop suspended from a rig to do acrobatic tricks that strengthen and tone the body while creating better body awareness and control. This is a beginner level class focusing on moves on the bottom bar and spins. No prior aerial experience needed. Important info: we will take turns learning aerial moves and will be sharing equipment. It is best to wear a comfortable shirt that breathes, leggings and socks. We will not wear shoes on equipment. Bring water and a towel.

FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use challenges among adolescents age 12-18. In this course you will build the skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to young people who are struggling. You'll also learn how to help connect them with the appropriate support. After this course, participants will be able to: Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorders (ADHD). Recognize common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges. Understand how to interact with a young person in crisis and know how to connect a young person with help. FREE Troop FUNdamentals (Combined) is a comprehensive, in-person training designed to set you up for success as a Girl Scout troop leader. This session combines both Part One and Part Two into a single, engaging experience.
We begin with the big picture. You will learn how to get started with troop meetings, what to expect, how to plan effectively, and how to keep meetings engaging for girls. We will introduce the Girl Scout program, including our mission, organizational structure, and how everything fits together. You will also explore the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), the framework that guides all Girl Scout activities.
From there, we move into what it means to lead a girl-led troop. You will gain an understanding of how leadership looks different at each age level and how to create age-appropriate, meaningful, and fun experiences for your girls. This portion is tailored by age level, so be sure to register for the level that best fits your troop. If you lead a multi-level troop, choose the level with the most girls or consider attending multiple sessions.
Throughout the training, we will highlight the many resources and support systems available to you, so you always know where to turn for guidance. You are never doing this alone.

You will explore key elements of backpacking, including packing gear efficiently, trail hiking, and primitive camping. This course is designed to help you feel confident preparing for and leading a backpacking experience with your troop. Limited equipment is available, BRING WHAT YOU HAVE.
Participants should be prepared for a physical experience and must be able to hike at least 5 miles on uneven terrain and camp on the ground.

The Trainer Remembrance Scholarship Fund, also previously known as the Princess Fund, was created to honor our dedicated trainers and to support volunteers in continuing their own Girl Scout learning journey.
This fund provides financial assistance for training and certification courses that help volunteers grow their skills and confidence in serving girls.
Who Can Apply:
All registered Girl Scout volunteers in good standing are eligible to request support for approved adult learning opportunities.
What the Fund Covers:
Full funding is available for the following approved classes:
Partial funding may be provided for elective or enrichment sessions that enhance the Girl Scout experience.
How to Apply:
Meals will return to Low Lodge in 2026. Additional information coming soon.
Meals are not offered at ALE REMIX events. However, some classes do include meals. Please review the class descriptions for details.
