Each spring, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO) hosts its Annual Meeting and this year, the event was held virtually again to ensure the safety of our members. During the meeting, Girl Scout members, both girls and adults, tuned in for the governance meeting that included board committee reports and an election of Adult and Girl Board of Directors and Board Development Committee members. Judith E. Matsko, Board Chair (2020-present), opened the meeting.
Judith E. Matsko leads the GSNEO Board of Directors, which provides strategic direction and stewardship, supporting leadership experiences and programs for more than 23,000 Girl Scouts throughout 18 counties in Northeast Ohio.
“It’s an honor to serve GSNEO,” said Matsko. “I firmly believe in the mission and in this council, and I love to engage with the Girl Scout community in Northeast Ohio. One of the most important roles of the board chair is to inspire a deeply committed board to add great value to the organization.”
Re-elected GSNEO Board Directors will join Allison Baker, Corporate and Brand Affairs Manager at Nestle; Robyn Gordon, Director of the Center Operations Directorate at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field; Matthew Inks, Director of Enterprise Continuous Improvement at KeyBank; Kathy Moock, Community Volunteer; Nicole Rodenfels, Development Director at LifeAct; Laura Schultz, J.D., Chief Financial Officer and Wealth Advisor at Preservation Retirement Services; Ellen Stephens, Vice President of Human Resources for the Corporate Division and World Headquarters for The Sherwin-Williams Company; Karen Stock, Ph.D., Associate Professor at DeVille School of Business, Walsh University; and Chris Walker, Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer of FirstEnergy Service Company, who are in the middle of their respective office terms.
Continuing as Officers of the GSNEO Board Directors are Judith Matsko, Chair, Chief Development Officer, Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma; Chris Venditti, Vice Chair, Director, Revenue Growth Management at Moen Incorporated; Cindy Skelton-Becker, Secretary, Sr. Manager, Customer Quality Assurance of Industrial Coating Systems, Nordson Corporation; and Kate Asbeck, Treasurer who is a Retired Financial Executive.
Newly Elected (adult) to the Board of Directors include Tami Bolder, CPA/ABV, ASA, MBA, DBA, Director of Northeast Ohio CBIZ Valuation Group, LLC; Heather Valentino, Sustainability & Performance Excellence Manager at Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Agency; and Dr. Vivian von Gruenigen, Professor at NEOMED.
Re-elected (adult) to the Board of Directors include Diana Bilimoria, Ph.D., Professor, KeyBank Professor and Chair of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management; Sandra Rapp, Vice President, Chief Information Officer of Travel Centers of America; and Chris Young, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, Chief of Hospital Based Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Newly Elected (girl) to the Board of Directors include Shelby Bennett of Olmsted Falls and Sydney Harbour of North Canton.
Finally, Joseph Gutkoski, Esq., Dr. Mary Parker, and Kristina Wilson retired from the Board of Directors (adult); and Charity Boley and Ava Kress retired from the Board of Directors (girl).
Kaitlyn Pillar, CPA, Accounting Manager at BakerHostetler was re-elected to the Board Development Committee, while Angel Williams (full term), Global Contracts Manager at The Timken Company and Dr. Kimberly Togliatti-Trickett (unexpired term), Co-Medical Director for the Rehabilitation Floor at University Hospitals - Parma Medical Center were newly elected members of the Board Development Committee,
The newly and re-elected Board Development Committee members will join Erin Brady Curtis, Manager of Volunteer, Employee, and Spiritual Care Services at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital; James Harris, Senior IT Project Manager at Eaton Corporation; Kathy Moock, Community Volunteer; Karen Stock, Ph.D., Associate Professor at DeVille School of Business, Walsh University; and Sandra Reid, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Strategic Planning Administration at The Davey Tree Expert Company, who are in the middle of their respective terms.
Retiring from the Board Development Committee are Julie Cruz Blair, Executive Director of Leadership Lorain County and Dr. Vivian von Gruenigen, Professor at NEOMED.
