Managing Troop/Group Finances
Helping girls decide what they want to do, and coaching them as they earn and manage money to pursue their goals, is an integral part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Your Girl Scout group plans and finances its own activities, with your guidance. At the same time, the girls learn many valuable skills that serve them throughout their lives.
Looking
for Financial Assistance for your girl members?
The Council will designate funds for Scoutship and Financial Assistance based on need and without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, ability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
Financial Aid is used to pay for girl membership when there is a need. Financial Aid may be applied to membership registration during the registration process only by the parent/caregiver. Families can apply for financial assistance during the online membership registration process.
Scoutship awards are based on household income and size as well as previous product sale participation and may be requested when personal circumstances may be an obstacle to fully engaging in Girl Scout events, activities or programs. Scoutship may be used by girls towards uniforms, book and participation in council-sponsored events. Caregivers need to apply for Scoutship under the girl's name.
